Saturday, November 7 Party!!

At it again, folks.  Some rocking tunes to be expected popping out this week as we’ll be hosting Shawn Dub who’s been rocking all over the board jams for some time now.  Alongside Shawn, Cez and I will be dropping some hot new/old cuts all night long…at 12:30, expect us to get into a tag team of dancefloor cuts after we’ve all thrown down a set each….

it’s been a long, long time since i’ve put anything up ya’ll. i am celebrating my 1st full year in san francisco by gathering my tightest friends for a good throw down at s.p.a.c.e. on polk. we will be playing some of the deepest, groovy cuts we can find and get your asses moving on the dance floor.

this party is just a good excuse for an experiment, so expect to see a collage of works from various artists. starting tuesday, august 4th, street artists are welcome to come lay down their style on our temporary “walls” every day leading up to the party. there will be photography, wheat pastes, and stencils being layed down all the way up until 10 pm the night of the party. Saturday, cuts will be laid by cez, briski b, mai-lei, and myself. We will be dropping some disco, house, soul, funk, and flat out grooves. So, come on out!!

this installment comes to you from jdisco, the man responsible for bringing you top shelf recordings, and he’s got some gems that we all should be grateful for. jdisco has played disco and house cuts among the heavy hitters in los angeles for quite some time now. i first met him upon arriving in los angeles when he was stocking the bins for the boys over at wax records. needless to say, he got some first hand schooling on some classics and he’s here to share his knowledge years later as a local vet.

so, i ran into mark rae, from rae & christian fame at a wicked party in venice, however he declined to lay down a set for us here at blindfold. who can blame him? he’s off and running with promotion for his new album and collaboration with rhys adams, known as yes king. i believe the album is due to drop march 25 worldwide with an early release on itunes and emusic February 26. that’s tomorrow!! we are fortunate to provide a slight preview of this fusion of hip hop, dancehall, ragga and ska into their own unique brand…
